Submissions

1. Publishing is a business. So before querying us or any other literary agency, we urge you to take advantage of the many helpful resources on this page:
  • Although every successful proposal is unique, here is a nonfiction book proposal template that many of our clients have used successfully.
  • You can listen to free audio recordings of some of Ted's workshops and media appearances, including "Book Proposal Bootcamp" and "The Business of Publishing."
  • For more information on working with a literary agent, please see these interviews with Ted at the Writers Market and Absolute Write Web sites.
2. We DO NOT REPRESENT fiction, stage plays, screenplays, poetry, or books for children or young adults.

3. We accept initial submissions by EMAIL ONLY. Please send your query note or full proposal (with no attachments - paste all your materials into the body of an email) to:

submissions-at-twliterary-dot-com: Adult Non-fiction Queries Only

We receive an overwhelming amount of spam email and computer viruses, so please include the words "Non-fiction Author Submission:" in your subject line and include your detailed materials in the body of your message, not as a file attachment. Queries to any other email address at the agency, queries that include attachments, or queries without those words in the subject line are deleted automatically.

If you are writing in a genre or subject area we do not represent, there are many other great agents who are accepting new clients, so we encourage you to query widely. Some resources you may find useful include:
